Singleton Major Pump Stations

Overview:

Project involved the design and construction of three major sewer pump station upgrades to enhance sewerage pump station storage capacity and prolong asset life expectancy.

The contract involved the development of concept plans, consultation and collaboration with Singleton Council before completion of final designs and construction.

Scope of Works:

Civil, mechanical and electrical design and construction of an upgrade package at three sewerage pump stations including:

  • Installation of 150kL of emergency sewerage storage
  • New valve and bypass pits
  • Pedestrian improvements
  • Access road construction
  • Electrical Upgrade incl. new switchboard
  • Bypass pumping of sewerage
  • Removal of mechanical and structural steel work from the wet well
  • Relining of wet well structure
  • Replacement of wet well pipework and pumps
  • Demolition of existing buildings

Highlights and challenges:

  • Design and implementation of sewerage bypass systems (up to 226 litres per second)
  • Complexed confined space work in shafts up to 14m deep
