
Bridgman Road Intersection
Overview:
KCE were contracted by Singleton Shire Council to widen the existing north bound lanes, construct drainage culverts, re-shape drains and change out and install new traffic lights at the Bridgman Road/New England Highway Intersection.
Scope of work:
- Clearing, sediment and erosion control
- Relocation of existing street lighting
- Bulk earthworks
- Stormwater drainage
- New Pavement Construction – 500m of concrete pavement widening on the New England Hwy to allow additional through and turning lanes on the highway
- New Pavement Construction – Asphalt at the Bridgman Road intersection
- Change out and install new traffic lights
- Reconstruction of Kerb and Gutters, Footpaths, New Traffic Island and Pedestrian Ramps
- Linemarking
- Traffic Control and Management
Highlights and challenges:
- All works were required to comply with requirements set by RMS and Singleton Council
- Due to the volume of traffic that utilises this intersection, key emphasis was placed on a timely delivery, mitigating the impact of works through the staging, community consultation and notification process
