Wollar Rail Track Reconditioning

Overview:

KCE were charged to recondition the Wollar section of rail track, including the stabilisation and shotcreting of cutting batters within a short-term track closure of 3 days.

Scope of work:

• 200m rail track reconditioning
• 300m shoulder ballast replacement
• Supply plant, equipment and supervision
• Site survey

Highlights and challenges:

The delivery of the track formation reconditioning was conducted in a highly constrained cutting due to the track being restricted at one end by a tunnel portal
