Hunter Business Park Stage 1A & 1B
Overview:
This project is the first stage of a 200 lot commcerial/industrial land development by a joint venture between Hunterland and Stevens Group.
Located at the Blackhill exit off the M1 Pacific Motorway, and accessed via a new 7 lane signalised intersection on John Renshaw Drive, Hunter Business Park Stage 1A & 1B is a 45ha site delivering 61 industrial lots in various sizes and providing the Hunter Valley with valuable growth opportunities
Scope of work:
- 45ha tree clearing in close collaboration with ecologists
- Significant earthworks re-shaping 230,000m3 of topsoil and fill
- 5km stormwater drainage system and 4 new detention basins
- 37,000m2 heavily bound industrial pavement
- 2 large fibre-reinforced concrete roundabouts
- All required utilities to service 61 lots (power, water, sewer, NBN) and tree clearing in close collaboration with ecologists
Highlights and challenges:
- Rehabilitation and remediation of former land use including former mining infrastructure
- Installation of a large triple cell culvert in a active creek line with substantial upstream catchment
- Constructed intricate rock placing headwall outlets into ecologically significant Viney Creek to stringent standards and Newcastle Council oversight
- Coordination of large scale material requirements in challenging supply shortage environment
- Construction near significant existing overhead and underground services
