Cameron Park South Retaining Walls

Overview

• Dry Stacked Masonry wall with no-fine concrete as drainage layer
• 15 retaining wall were constructed in the subdivision ranging in height form 0.2m to 1.8m

Scope of Works

• Detail excavation
• Reinforced concrete footings
• Construction of walls including subsoil drainage pipes, geo-textile filter cloth and no-fines concrete as drainage layer

Highlights and Challenges

The walls are a standard industry design which are quite fast in construction with downtime between building of the wall and backfill of the works. The main challenges were supply of materials, access around lot during wet weather and directing water away from rear of the wall during construction.
